Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC)
A Hawthorn Foundation member since 2011.
The Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC) represents 18 counties and 50 major cities in the two-state Kansas City region. The KCADC works to brand the region as one product in order to stimulate economic growth. KCADC’s experienced team works in close partnership with local communities, utilities and state partners to assist companies in finding the best location for them within the KC metro.
The Kansas City region is a creative crossroad for thriving businesses. Criss-crossed by four major interstates and four Class I rail lines, the five-county Kansas City region offers direct connections to some of the fastest growing markets in the U.S. Kansas City and its suburbs are particularly strong in advanced manufacturing, energy, data and bio. The region is also at the center of the KC Animal Health Corridor, which is home to the largest concentration of animal health companies in the world.
Businesses considering the Kansas City region are often surprised by its vibrant quality of life. Downtown and midtown entertainment and shopping districts contribute to the workday dynamic for many, while jazz and barbeque round out the picture, making the area a Midwest tourist hub.
