Missouri Department of Economic Development

The Missouri Department of Economic Development represents the State of Missouri and traces its roots back to 1913. Located in Jefferson City, the state capital, DED provides many resources to businesses throughout the state including: workforce development resources, such as recruiting and training; financial incentives, such as tax credits, grants and bonds; matching funds for startup firms; access to energy saving resources; and promotional and networking opportunities.

While DED supports all of the state’s wide range of industries, the organizations priority is to focus resources on industries poised for growth and next-generation job creation. These targeted industries include: advanced manufacturing, information technology, professional and financial services, transportation and logistics, health sciences and services, energy solutions and bioscience. DED also makes significant investments to support entrepreneurs and startups as they embark on innovating and developing high-tech ideas, products and services.
